UTILITY PLANT OPERATOR 2
This is semi-skilled work in the operation of boilers and related equipment at the college.
Must be able to operate and maintain boiler plant and associated equipment.
High pressure boilers 450 HP, Boiler Feed Pumps, Deaerator Heater, Chemical Treatment Associated with Boilers and Condensate Return Systems such as but not limited to daily testing for sulfite, hardness of water, polymers for steam and acidity in the condensate return water and conductivity within the boiler.
Troubleshoot boilers and associated equipment to maintain 80 lbs.
pressure for the facility. Perform daily maintenance on the boilers, including reading meters, clean equipment, and perform preventive maintenance.
Maintain and operate chilled water systems.
Maintain window air conditioners and associated equipment such as pumps, coils, condensers, evaporators and chemical systems associated with the equipment.
Maintain Diesel Generators. Assist a skilled worker in the maintenance and repair of plant equipment.
Maintain and clean boiler and generating room.
Check and maintain fire extinguishers, fire suppression system and emergency phone system.
Operate heavy equipment such as skid steer loader, snowbrush and fork lift.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., tolerate heights, climb ladders, tolerate all types of weather and adhere to our safety policies and procedures.
